3D Biomechanics From a Smartphone
Valor Vision turns a smartphone into 3D biomechanics, giving every athlete a movement profile and a roadmap for long-term athletic development. Our markerless mocap works on the field, not just in the gym, so the athlete you work with was likely assessed sprinting, cutting, or jumping in their real training environment, not a lab.
Capture runs on an iPhone or iPad with no markers or rig. For higher-fidelity capture there is an optional validated Valor IMU wearable, and the camera and IMU modalities can be fused.
What the Shared Report Shows
Every assessment in a Valor report is built from the same three layers of objective movement data.
Movement Scores
A summary score for each movement pattern, squat, jump, gait, or sprint, so you can see at a glance where the athlete stands and how they trend over time.
Joint Metrics
Measured joint angles and ranges at the ankle, knee, hip, trunk, and shoulder, taken from 3D pose estimation on the video, not visual estimation.
Asymmetry Flags
Side-to-side comparisons that flag meaningful left-right differences, useful context for rehab progressions and return-to-play conversations.

Practitioner Questions, Answered
An athlete shared their Valor report with me. What is it?
A Valor report is a shareable summary of a movement assessment run in Valor Vision, a markerless 3D biomechanics platform. It shows objective movement scores, joint-level metrics, and side-to-side asymmetry flags measured from a smartphone video of the athlete moving, on the field or in the gym.
Do I need to pay to view the report?
No. Viewer accounts are free. The invite the athlete sent you includes everything you need to create one and see their report and their progress over time.
What do the metrics mean?
Movement scores summarize the quality of a movement pattern such as a squat, jump, or sprint. Joint metrics are measured angles and ranges at the ankle, knee, hip, trunk, and shoulder. Asymmetry flags highlight meaningful left-right differences worth a closer look. The underlying Valor IMU system was validated against Vicon optical motion capture in a peer-reviewed study (Sensors, 2024, DOI 10.3390/s24175833), with joint-angle accuracy of plus or minus 3.5 degrees.
What does a paid account add?
A paid account turns Valor Vision into your own assessment tool: run new assessments on your patients and clients with an iPhone or iPad, assign corrective exercises against what the data shows, and track compliance and progress between visits. Book a demo to get set up.
Is the athlete's data private?
The athlete chose to share their report with you, and you see only what they share. Athlete data is never sold. Our privacy principles and security pages on this site describe how data is handled in more detail.
