SMS Opt-In Workflow

This page documents how Valor Biomechanics collects SMS consent from users of the Valor Vision platform. It is published publicly so that mobile carriers and messaging aggregators can verify our opt-in workflow.

Program Description

Valor Biomechanics sends one-time SMS verification codes to users who are invited to join an organization on the Valor Vision platform. These messages are transactional and are used solely for account authentication and secure account access. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

How Consent Is Collected

There is exactly one way a phone number enters our SMS program:

  1. A coach or organization administrator invites an athlete to their organization.
  2. The athlete opens the Valor Vision iOS app and enters the invite code issued by that organization.
  3. The athlete then completes their profile, which includes entering their own phone number.
  4. The consent disclosure below is displayed on screen, directly beneath the phone number field, before the number is submitted.
  5. The athlete must actively enter and submit their own phone number to proceed. Submitting the number is the opt-in action.
  6. One-time authentication codes are sent to that number.

There is no web form, paper form, verbal, QR code, or point-of-sale opt-in. Phone numbers are never purchased, rented, or obtained from outside sources or contact lists, and consent is never transferred between brands.

Sample Message

Your verification code for Valor is 123456. Please enter this on the secret code section of the app to link yourself to your organization and complete your account setup.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on user activity and invitations, but typically does not exceed 5 messages per account setup event.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from Valor unless you later reinitiate communication or are re-enrolled in a permitted manner.

Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of data exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
